Will my home's wiring support an EV charger?
Most Newcastle and Lake Macquarie homes can support a standard 7.4kW home charger… but it depends on your existing switchboard and available circuit capacity. We’ll check this as part of the quote. If a dedicated 32A circuit or switchboard upgrade is needed, you’ll know the full cost before you book – no surprises on install day.
Will the installation be compliant and protect my EV warranty?
Yes. Every installation is completed to AS/NZS 3000 Australian wiring standards, and you receive a certificate of compliance on completion. This is the documentation your EV manufacturer requires for warranty validity and what your insurer may request. Uncompliant installations – including DIY or unlicensed work – can void your EV warranty and create liability issues. That’s not something you want to risk.
How long does the install take, and is it disruptive?
A standard EV charger installation typically takes 2–4 hours depending on your home’s layout and the location of your switchboard. Power to specific circuits is briefly interrupted during the work – not the whole home, and not for long. Chad will walk you through exactly what to expect before he starts.
